Vzorový text emailu a adresu naleznete níže.

Vzorový text emailu:

Dear Wouter Zaayman,

I am writing to express my grave concern about your government's recent decision to deny a visa to the Dalai Lama to attend a Peace Conference in advance of South Africa's hosting of the 2010 World Cup.

The Dalai Lama is one of the world's most respected leaders and has gained overwhelming international support for his tireless work to find a peaceful resolution to China's brutal occupation of Tibet.

The decision to deny the Dalai Lama a visa casts a shadow over your party’s proud legacy of successfully bringing an end to decades of injustice by South Africa’s apartheid regime. The Tibetan people have drawn incredible inspiration from your country’s social justice movement in their own struggle for human rights and freedom.

Your government’s act is a clear indication of China's growing influence over South Africa, a disturbing move that has been met by outspoken criticism by South Africa’s most respected leaders. Archbishop Desmond Tutu has called the ban a ‘total betrayal of our struggle's history,’ and Nelson Mandela's grandson and ANC candidate said, "For me personally and given the role my grandfather played in founding our democracy this rejection by the government to not issue a visa is really tainting our own efforts at democracy."

Your government’s decision has been widely criticized by the international community. Just as people of conscience around the world stood in solidarity with the South African people’s struggle for civil liberties, I ask that you stand with the people of Tibet at what is one of the darkest periods of Tibetan history.

I call on you to immediately grant the Dalai Lama an entry visa and take a stand in defense of South Africa’s hard-won democracy by showing that your government will not bow to China’s pressure.

Sincerely,

[Vaše jméno]
